Feathered Fox Plush - Series 2

At last, fennec fox has an updated prototype! It's still not perfect, but it's already better. Keep in mind, she is a stuffie, so her anatomy will never be truly accurate to a real fennec fox. I think it's a good representation of one though :)

Edits I want done still! Faux fur back in the ears. They went for a super short minky fabric, I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. I want a faux fur like before, just shorter. If that's not possible, I would choose no faux fur. Nose needs to be waaaay smaller still. And under jaw smaller too. This is a slightly edited image below to show changes to muzzle and nose.


I'm wondering if the darker tan stripe on the muzzle is causing this bulge underneath, thus making the under jaw appear too big. I'm not positive this can be fixed without removing the dark striping (which I don't want to do)


And a small detail, but I want this part around the wing embroidered.


Also, please note, the bottom wing position cannot change. I have been informed that it would not be possible to replicate it accurately enough during mass production. Here is what it looks like currently and how it will stay. It's not ideal, but it could be worse. Also, the wings ARE purple, but for some reason the camera makes it appear blue-ish I've been told. 



Overall, I'm pleased with her so far and I believe she will be super cute once finalized. I'm so happy her design is unlocked! She was the one goal I really hoped we'd get to. I'm also debating offering her without wings for those who want. It's hard to find fennec fox plush sometimes! Let me know if it's something you guys would like!

Rosy maple moth is next and I believe we can get there before my campaign ends ❤️

As for the other designs that have not been unlocked yet, here is my other option to fund them.

After my campaign ends I can set up 'goals' to unlock each separate design. If 65 of a design are purchased, either through surveys or preorders, that design will be funded and put into production. My campaign page will turn into a preorder store about 2 weeks after my campaign ends.

So, if you are purchasing multiple designs and 1 of them is not unlocked by the last day of my campaign, edit your pledge to only include the number of fox plush you want that are unlocked. In the survey I send out you will be able to add any of the 'locked designs'. Surveys will be sent to your email roughly 2 weeks after my campaign ends.

If you ONLY want one of the locked designs then I recommend canceling your pledge on the last day (there's usually a surge of backers in the last couple of days, so there's a chance some locked designs may become unlocked). You can then order the design you want through my preorder store. It will open roughly 2 weeks after my campaign ends and go for at least a couple of weeks.

If there are not 65 of a locked design purchased after my campaign ends then it will not be made. The item is removed from your order and you are not charged for it. I will keep the design for a future campaign :)

I know this may be confusing, especially if you haven't used Backerkit before! As always, I'm happy to answer any questions.

*Edit* I just received finalized pics of goldfinch! I had them remove the stiff foam from his wings so they are a bit softer and floppier as well.

Sending a quick update here. I'll be making a longer one hopefully by Friday this week! 

My manufacturer has been on holiday (I was unaware this was happening, my bad). I SHOULD have updated pics of Fennec fox in 3-4 days and I'll make a more official update then. 

I also am not confident we will meet all my funding goals before the end of my campaign. I am still so happy at how far we've gotten already! We've surpassed my last campaign already and still have 8 days to go! 

I do have another option after the campaign ends to fund maybe at least a couple of the higher leveled goals if they don't get unlocked during my campaign. I'll give more details in my next update :)

I can't believe it, the first 6 designs are already unlocked! This is amazing and we have soooo much time left. Fennec Fox is next and I'm so excited for her! I'm hoping for an update on her prototype in the next 2 weeks.

I finally got pics of mini Goldfinch fox though! She just needs a few minor edits which I made to the images below already.



And Fig, the mini Honduran white bat fox arrived to me! Here's some pics of him and some pics with Cinnamon, the Fruit Bat Fox, so you can see the size difference :)

Thank you EVERYONE for the success of my campaign so far! I was shocked this morning to see we've already unlocked 5 of the 12 designs. I am so absolutely honored and humbled. I'm excited to see how far we can go!

Which design are you most excited for?



So far we have unlocked the following designs:

Luna Moth Fox
Fawn Fox
Mini Goldfinch Fox
Fruit Bat Fox
Mini Honduran White Bat Fox

I'm so excited for these little guys! I'm still waiting on mini Goldfinch fox sample, but here are the other 2 minis for now.

Mini Honduran White Bat Fox is complete and shipping to me. His face is much improved from the last sample which looked more like a cat to me. He also has a bit longer ears, but I like them. His yellow fur colors are a bit paler than my mockup design. Due to how pale his nose is I think this is for the best. These colors are cohesive together. 




And here is the Fennec Fox! Changes WILL be made. The muzzle needs to be a lot smaller for sure. The ears need to be longer and more narrow. Nose smaller and maybe eyes a mm or 2 bigger? And how do we feel about the faux fur in the ears? I think it's a little long, it could be shorter. But also not opposed to removing it entirely so let me know how you guys feel! I'm super happy with the body colors I picked though! The wing placement is a little off, I'm having Tina send more pics so I can hopefully fix it. The wing patterns are printed which makes sense with how intricate they are. Color looks a bit off maybe? Wings should be more purple, but look more blue however these pics aren't in natural light so it's hard to tell. The butterfly is called a topaz spotted Blue so perhaps this color is more fitting :)





My campaign is scheduled to start this Monday at 7AM PST! I will be driving home from a sleep study that morning so hopefully everything goes smoothly. I was going to delay the campaign by a few hours, but I think it should be fine to stay at that time. If you have any questions that day just know my response will be delayed til the afternoon or evening!
